I lost my wife, Lorie, to cancer. For a long time grief decided what my days looked like. Then I made a different choice — to work as though my calling depended on learning to live again. It did.
I am a father. An engineer who spent a career solving problems nobody had solved yet. A marathoner who learned that the race is decided long after the excitement wears off. And a man who no longer lets the possibility of failure cancel his willingness to try.
I speak because I am no longer willing to watch people suffer and stay silent.
